“Digital Age and Transforming World”

The second of the BEKAM Academy seminars was held at BEKAM on Saturday, October 29, with the title of "Digital Age and the Transforming World" by our Foundation President Turgay Aldemir.

BEKAM continues to bring together expert researchers and participants who are interested in the subject by organizing an 8-week program with the title "DIGITAL LITERACY AND TRANSFORMATION SKILLS".

In the seminar held this week, Aldemir said, “Digitalization is not a rejection of the previous life. It is a process that must be continued by leaning on each other. We both know the old and we are in the new age. We need to understand this process correctly and be at peace with what we call technology, the virtual world and the internet. Considering the benefit to humanity, we should review ourselves and in which concepts we should discuss and talk about these issues.

We must learn to respect differing opinions. Rather than flaming and dying together, we should find a way to respect each other and live together.

In this period when change and transformation is more aggressive and faster than ever, it is one of the most valuable achievements to strengthen human competencies and the value of human beings, on the other hand, with our people-oriented approach.

The issue of how we can transform the developing technologies into benefits for humanity is the most seriously debated issue. In the upcoming period, the development of the volunteer culture and the participation of volunteers in this process have become so important in civil society that people are both volunteering, hurting and being consumed.

In the organization of goodness, in the announcement of beauties to the world, digitalization; The partner gives us the opportunity to find resources. One of the most important things it brings is assessment and evaluation “You can't evaluate what you don't measure, and you can't manage what you can't evaluate. The process manages you.”

Nature, existence never accepts a vacuum, we have to assign a role to ourselves in this process. Responsibility falls on knowledge to technology, technology to human values and to keep people alive. If some of the world is poor and some are rich, these conflicts will continue. We must put these approaches before us and live a period in which people will meet their basic needs. If we understand the story, philosophy and spirit of the business without getting too caught up in the results, then it will develop spontaneously.” he said.

The seminar ended after a question and answer session.
