“Digital Transformation Steps”

The 8th of the BEKAM Academy seminars was held at BEKAM on Saturday, December 10, with the topic "Digital Transformation Steps" by Hüseyin Şimşek, a Digital Transformation and Talent Specialist.

BEKAM organized an 8-week program titled "DIGITAL LITERACY AND TRANSFORMATION SKILLS" and brought together experts in the field and participants who are interested in the subject.

In the last seminar held this week, Hüseyin Şimşek said, “There is a trend called digital learning. We are trying to explain this in Turkey. We explain the basic structures, disadvantages, advantages. There is a digital future in the world: the future of learning. Since 1995, different theories and designs have been discussed. The story we call digital transformation, the technological transformation of all people into digital, that is, the transformation of our work into digital, the transformation of people into digital, a process called e-human has emerged. We can say that a person who does not convert to digital is deprived of many things. Today, the number of homes without televisions is almost non-existent. Children learn to develop and speak in accordance with the culture of television, where children spend more time watching television than their parents. That's why digital transformation is not something we need to talk about much, we are already doing the digital transformation. We don't know if we did it right or not, but somehow we turned into digital. We think it brings us more cons than pros. For example, we think that social media affects us badly and is a bad medium, but we are all on our phones and we use them, so we accept and move on. We have to create our digital culture. We need to talk, decide and act on these issues. There are two types of technology users. First of all, there is technology, you buy it, you do whatever it tells you. Secondly, you become a participant, you criticize, it could be like this, this place could be like this. As the biggest example, we can give the following; WhatsApp said, “I will process your personal information via Facebook and Instagram. I delegate this. You will all follow me.” 42% of the world agreed. The remaining part stood against it by saying that they did not accept and that the data could be received and processed. This is what digital participation means.” The seminar continued with a question and answer session.

After the seminar, Hüseyin Şimşek visited our Foundation Center and received information about our activities.
