From Modernism to Postmodernism: The Psychological Breakdown
BEKAM held its second Focus Group Meeting under the title “From Modernism to Postmodernism: The Psychological Breakdown of Man,” moderated by Gaziantep Provincial Director of National Education, Dr. Erdal Kılınç.
Under the overarching theme of “Psychological Breakdown of Man,” the Science, Education, and Culture Research Center, which organizes Focus Group Meetings, examined the subject with the participation of relevant experts and under the moderation of Dr. Erdal Kılınç.
At the meeting, which discussed the foundations of modernism and psychology, topics such as the modern human’s struggle to keep up with the pace of societal change, loneliness, consumer culture, loss of empathy, the age of anxiety, and distraction were also addressed.
It was further discussed that in order to prevent technological developments from turning into disruptions, our awareness must be increased and a value-centered life adopted.
BEKAM’s focus group meetings will continue under the overarching theme of “Psychological Breakdown of Man” with sessions offering different perspectives and subtopics.
